You must be at least 18 years of age on Election Day or before, and registered thirty (30) days prior to an election in his or her jurisdiction of residence to be eligible to vote. The official last day to register is always published prior to an election. Type in your name, address. The site will list if you are a registered voter and where, display your ballot for an upcoming election, also a map on how to get to your polling location. PHOTO IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Beginning November 6, 2007, voters will be required to show a Michigan Drivers License or State Identification card in order to vote. ABSENTEE BALLOTS Absentee ballots for all elections may be obtained from the Township Office. Absentee ballots for the Hemlock Public School may now be obtained at the Richland Township Administration Office for residents in Richland. All other absentee ballot request for the Hemlock Public School must be obtained from your local Township Clerk's Office. BUSINESS LICENSES A Business License must be obtained prior to operating a business in Richland Township. The fee is $10.00 annually and the license fee is billed on April 1st of each year. TOWN HALL The Richland Township Hall is located at 218 South Elm Street. Hall rental is $75.00 for Richland Township Residents; $100.00 for non-Richland Township Residents. No weddings/stag parties/alcohol allowed. The Halls capacity is approximately 100 people. The Hall is occupied by the Commission on Aging Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 10:00 A.M. to approximately 2:30 P.M.
