REGISTER TO VOTE

You may register to vote at the Richland Township Administration Building or a local Secretary of State Office.  You must be at least 18 years of age on Election Day or before, and registered thirty (30) days prior to an election in his or her jurisdiction of residence to be eligible to vote.  The official last day to register is always published prior to an election.  You may register to vote at http://www.mi.gov/documents/MIVoterRegistration_97046_7.pdf

Michigan residents can check to see if they are registered by going to the Secretary of State website:  https://services2.sos.state.mi.us/mivote/.   Type in your name, address.  The site will list if you are a registered voter and where, display your ballot for an upcoming election, also a map on how to get to your polling location.    

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

POLLING LOCATIONS

Both Precinct I and Precinct II registered electors  will vote at the Richland Township Administration Building, 1180 North Hemlock Road, Hemlock.  Hemlock Public School District registered voters will vote at the following locations:
        Richland Township Precinct I & Precinct II:  1180 North Hemlock Road, Hemlock
        Ingersoll Township:  Ingersoll Township Hall, 3026 S. Sasse Rd., Midland
        Thomas Township Precinct 3 & 4:  Thomas Township Public Safety Bldg., 8215 Shields Dr., Saginaw
        Fremont Township:  Fremont Township Hall, 5980 S. Hemlock Rd., Hemlock
        Swan Creek Township:  Swan Creek Township Hall, 11415 Lake Road, St. Charles  

ELECTION INSPECTOR APPLICATION

You must be 16 years of age or older and a resident of Saginaw County.  If you are 18 years or older you must be a registered voter residing in Saginaw County.  Anyone interested may obtain an application at the Richland Township Administration Office or click the following link for an application:  http://www.mi.gov/documents/Elec_Inspec-Appl_131809_7.pdf

 

HEMLOCK SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS

Hemlock School Board Members will now be elected every two years during the November General Election:
 2010 -- 4 Members               2012 -- 4 Members
               2014 -- 4 Members

POLITICAL CAMPAIGN SIGNS

Please refer to the Richland Township Zoning Ordinance regarding placement and removal of political campaign signs.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS

Absentee ballots for all elections may be obtained from the Township Office.  Absentee ballots for the Hemlock Public School may now be obtained at the Richland Township Administration Office for residents in Richland.  All other absentee ballot request for the Hemlock Public School must be obtained from your local Township Clerk's Office.    

BUSINESS LICENSES

A Business License must be obtained prior to operating a business in Richland Township.  The fee is $10.00 annually and the license fee is billed on April 1st of each year.  

TOWN HALL

The Richland Township Hall is located at 218 South Elm Street.  Hall rental is $75.00 for Richland Township Residents; $100.00 for non-Richland Township Residents.  No weddings/stag parties/alcohol allowed.   The Halls capacity is approximately 100 people.  The Hall is occupied by the Commission on Aging Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 10:00 A.M. to approximately 2:30 P.M.  Please call the Richland Township Administration Building for additional information (989) 642-2097.

SENIORS

If you are 60 years and/or older, join the Saginaw County Commission on Aging, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Richland Township Hall, 218 South Elm Street.  For additional information, call Shirley, Senior Director, 642-2610.
