With the passage of Proposal 2022-2, voters are offered early voting options
for Federal and State Elections
VOTING OPTION #1: ABSENTEE
Any registered voter can vote with an absentee ballot. There is no requirement for an excuse.
There are two steps for this process:
1) Submit a ballot application. PERMANENT MAIL BALLOT VOTERS: Voters who want to automatically be mailed a ballot for all future elections may sign up for the Permanent Absentee Mail Ballot Voter List at
MI.gov/Vote or when submitting an Absent Voter Ballot Application to the Richland Township Clerk.
2) Return your voted ballot by mail or absentee ballot drop box located at the Richland Township Administration Office. Ballots must arrive at the Clerk's Office by 8 P.M. on Election Day. The
outside of the ballot envelope must be signed by the voter.

Absentee Timeline:
Applications available: 75 days before election
Ballots available to be issued: 45 days before election
Applying by mail: Recommended to submit at least 2 weeks ahead of election
Applying in person: Ends at 4 P.M. on the day before election

VOTING OPTION #2: IN PERSON – EARLY
Any voter can vote during the 9 day early voting period for all state and federal elections
Early Voting Starts: 11 days before election day (Saturday)
Early Voting Ends: 2 days before election day (Sunday)
Richland Township’s Early Voting Center is located at the Saginaw County Governmental Center Complex, 618 Cass St., Saginaw, MI 48602

VOTING OPTION #3: IN PERSON ON ELECTION DAY
Polls are open 7 A.M. to 8 P.M. on Election Day
Vote at your assigned Precinct as noted on your Voter Information Card or check Mi.gov/Vote for precinct location.
Precinct 1 and 2 are located at the Richland Township Administration Office, 1180 North Hemlock Road, Hemlock.
WHAT'S ON THE BALLOT?
Beginning a month before election day, voters can preview their ballot at Mi.gov/Vote or preview a sample ballot at the Clerk’s Office.
CANDIDATE INFORMATION - RUNNING FOR OFFICE:
To file for public office in the Township, circulate a Nominating Petition or pay a $100 refundable filing fee if nominated and complete an Affidavit of Identity. All forms can be obtained at the Township Clerk’s Office. The completed Affidavit of Identity, petition, or filing fee must be completed and submitted to the Clerk’s Office for partisan and non-partisan offices no later than 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 23rd; School Board Candidates file no later than 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 23rd; Library Board no later than 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 18th. School Board and Library Board Candidates can pay a nonrefundable $100 filing fee in lieu of filing a nominating petition.
